Trading Session Schedule

Although binary options are traded 24 hours a day, quite a few assets can be bought only during trading hours of the stock exchanges where the underlying assets are listed.

Thus, you can buy stocks of the European companies during trading hours of the European stock exchanges, that is, throughout the day. When it’s night in Europe, the American stock exchanges are open, and the U.S. companies’ stocks are traded, after Asian stock exchanges are open… This is the way how trading is conducted 24 hours a day.

Therefore, if you visit AnyOption at 5:00 a.m. and don’t see Apple stock in the list of underlying assets, this means that the American stock exchanges are still closed.

To find out when the required asset is traded, you can check a trading session schedule.

And if you need to find out when a binary option on the required underlying asset is available to buy, you have to check the open and close time for each session.

Asian Trading Session

Each trading session has its peculiar features. During the Asian trading hours, the most volatile currency pairs are USDJPY, EURJPY, and AUDUSD. If you invest in these currency pairs, you need to take into account risks as a strategy.  Traders typically focus on currencies like the yen, the yuan, and the Singapore dollar. Billion export contracts made during the Asian session affect an exchange rate of the national currencies. However, trading activity during that time is relatively moderate.

European Trading Session

The world’s trading activity starts with the opening of the European trading session. At this time, the world’ largest stock markets, investment funds, and financial institutions join the market. The highest liquidity and volatility are fixed during the opening of the London stock market. By the lunch time, trading activity abates because of a lunch break and then gains momentum again.

 American Trading Session

After the opening bell on the New York Stock Exchange, liquidity and volatility are the highest because European traders come back from the lunch and then the American stock exchanges, that is, the world’s largest stock markets, hedge funds, and other financial institutions join. The U.S. market is distinguished by its higher aggressiveness, and soon after opening, this is the only trading session left on the market because the European trading session closes in the American afternoon.

Pacific Trading Session

This is the calmest time on the market. Pacific trading session starts when the market activity is the lowest. Trading volumes are very low during these hours as well. The most popular asset is the Australian and New Zealand dollar.
